Gothiness: 3 (due to child's clothes) Sweatiness: 8
What in the name of the Sisters of Mercy is going on here? It's not enough that this Gothette is having to struggle with the sun in full clobber AND push a heavily laden pram, but she has to endure the shame of a daughter being dressed as a PRINCESS? What was wrong with a Princess of the Night? Children these days. Let's hope the Gothette has just borrowed her and is planning to spend the day teaching her the ways of the Dark.

hahaha ok you're killing me! "what in the name of sisters of mercy.." lmao!
it's even funnier to me that i totally let my daughter go out like that as well. but, hey, i figure if i can go out in 'costume' than so can she.
trust me though, i fill her head with things like nightmare before christmas, coraline and the like as often as possible, hoping one days she'll abandon the princess thing. it's taking more work than i'd like though...
great blog! keep 'em coming!
I always wondered what the kids of punks/goths/etc would have to do in order to rebel. Turn into little Alex P. Keatons?
Now we know... they turn into Disney princesses!
I come from the belief that I hated when my parents told me how to dress, so like Diane, I let my daughter go her own way(princess of course), but inspire her as well as much as I can. I am an older mom as well, so my decked-out days are pretty much a thing of the past. My wardrobe is still mostly black, and my daughter thinks that's cool even though she's only 3.

Kick ass boots, and hilarious about the kid, of course she'd be the polar opposite of the mom :P
i think that princess is inside the window, not with gothy at all.
Aww I see two princesses there x
I think dressing your daughter as a princess is actually the height of gothiness.
Maybe she's just babysitting?
This is amazing! Great photo, and indeed, "What in the name of the Sisters of Mercy is going on here?" ha ha ha!
I'm a Rasta with 2 daughters who love the whole Disney princess thing and Barbie dolls. It pains my Afrocentric tendancies, but they've got to be the children they are and not versions of mini-me. I love the woman in this photo. Good on her. JAH Bless!
I am yet another Goth Mum who has a fairy princess for a daughter. My wardrobe is black, hers is pink. Such is life, as others have said, we can only try to influence, not force.
I'll post in defense of the child. I grew up with a gothic mother and it pained her to no end I'm sure to let me dress like a princess and like nothing but pink. Thankfully her influences paid off as I'm sure will be the case with this little girl.
