Adopts Cyril Fletcher voice

I'm indebted to a Ms Claire Shiels, who writes; "Perhaps someone could invent a light black “Goth cloth” specifically for the hotter climes?" Splendid idea. Any thoughts, friends? Perhaps a Gore-Tex Rubber or Tri-Climate leather?

this blog most totally rocks. I was an appallingly half-hearted bad weather goth for a bit in the 80s - when the sun came out it was jeans, cure t-shirt and wrist bandana. fail.

Linen is the answer! I had black linen shirts and trousers when I was a Goth back in the 80s, meaning I could look all cool and Goth, yet not get all hot and sweaty and eye-makeup smudgy.

Mind you, the big fuck off boots did still make for horribly sweaty feet, but you can't have everything.

Oh and a black straw stetson.

Oh my goodness I remember the cyril fletcher skit off not the nine o clock news word for word.."I;m indebted to a viewer from swansea, who wrote to me complaining that his television viewing was constantly ruined by the appearance of a ...'camp old twat',who continually reads his appalling drivel over the air..."
Ha ha...sorry for the completely off topic comment but you adopting the fletcher voice made me laugh.

I can't help feeling that a Goth Cloth should be a small black lace handkerchief to mop the sweaty brow of the overheated Goth. When I say "black lace" I am of course not referring to matters Agadoo.

Since the black is absorbing so much sunlight, maybe some wiz could use some type of solar technology to energize a head-to-toe, albeit very thin, cooling mechanism.

Or maybe put the outfit in the freezer for an hour before wearing having small ice pouches slipped into the fabric at convenient places.

They already have it. I wish I could remember the company web site I bought it off of but I have a bolt of black linen-like material that block over 97% UV rays.

The pic you have posted of Deliah on the GothCruise entry here, the top she is wearing looks like it might be made of the same material actually.

The only thing I can think of, is linen.

I make my living as an adventure sports leader, here in the US. I have exactly the thing right here, and it's being made now into a variety of leather-esque products. If someone starting manufacturing stylish goth attire from it, and marketed it right.....
