Gothiness: 5,000 Sweatiness: 9 (under the collar)
Louise "may or may not be loosely associated with this video" Don't be coy, Louise - it's an association you should scream from the highest rooftops! There are just too many great comments to make on this vid, from the shots on a handy cam of Didi-Goths pretending to cut each other's heads off in Richmond Park to what I suspect is a chorus sung by Neil Tennant. My mind is still boggling. I give you a short selection of possibly the greatest lyrics in Rawk history:
Catch the ghost train to the centre of my heart
I am potent, I'm profound
I am gothic
I am pale
I am scary
I'm insane
I'm a loner
I am cold
I feel special when people don't phone
Spray are my new favourite band!
Thats about the ungothiest thing i've seen on your blog so far.
ReplyDeleteI think you might have missed the joke...:)
ReplyDeleteI love Spray :D You do know they are the Cuban Boys?
ReplyDeleteI was a goth for most of my life (I'm 40 on next birthday), still listen to some of the older stuff, still dye my hair, still dress in all black - big boots and all. Oddly enough, people still call me a goth! ;-) Hmm...
ReplyDeleteI love this tune, it's gothic cheese on a stick! And if you know goths, you'll know they like nothing better.
THere was a song by (I think!) Marius Muller Westerhagen called 'Dicke' (lit. German for 'Fatty')
ReplyDeleteWhen it was played in German clubs and bars all the fat peoiple got up and danced.
I suspect that this wonderful songwould achieve the same effect in any otherwise doom-laden dance hall.
< aside > As a practising goth in earlier times I always used to request "Where are you Baby" by Betty Boo towards the end of the night - for some reason this went down a storm as well.< /aside >
I'll be singing this to myself for DAYS now!
